Finishing & Customising
It is amazing how small upgrades to an acoustic instrument can have such a large impact on the sound it produces. The most striking upgrade on lower value instruments is to replace the standard plastic nut, saddle and bridges.
Replacing new bone parts for the nut and saddle and wooden rather than plastic bridge pins increases sustain and improves tone by better transmitting the strings’ vibration to the body.
I also work on electric instruments. Many electric guitars these days are of a very high quality but are often let down somewhat by cheap pickups, electrics and tuners. Changing just some of these parts can transform an average guitar into one worthy of a very high price tag.
I am also fully equipped to finish, touch up and refinish instruments in high quality Nitro Cellulose lacquer in all tints and colours, please see my price list for more information
